区别辨析hot、warm与burning

hot、warm与burning这些形容词都有“热的”之意。

hot : 最普通用词,指温度很高,往往有灼热、滚烫含义。

  • It's too hot in here, can we turn down the heating?

warm : 通常指温度不太高,介于hot与cold之间,不太热也不太凉,给人以舒适感。

  • Are you warm enough or do you want me to put the heating on?
    你暖不暖和,要不要我开暖气?
  • I put my hands in my pockets to keep them warm.
    我把手放在衣兜里保暖。

burning : 暗示热源是火,多用于夸张,指像火烧一样热。
