limit、confine与restrict这些动词均有“限制、限定”之意。
limit : 一般指事先确定空间、时间或数量的极限，一旦超越限度，就会造成不良结果。当然也可指不事先规定，而且自然的或固有的界限。
- I've been asked to limit my speech to ten minutes maximum.
我被要求把讲话控制在10分钟之内。 - Having so little money to spend on an apartment does limit you in your choice.
可花在租公寓上的钱就这么一点，当然会限制你的挑选余地。
confine : 侧重施加不可逾越的限制，有时暗示束缚、囚禁。
